MY PRIORITIES

Addressing Financial Needs

Aubrey is dedicated to meeting the district's financial needs. She has spent the past year as a member of the board finance committee developing a strong understanding of the intricacies of school finance. Aubrey has used this knowledge to assist the district in addressing issues from multiple paths, including establishing the BASD Foundation to raise funds for the district, ongoing advocacy for legislative changes to school funding at the state level, and working with the current board and administration to make a reasonable referendum the community can support.

BASD Foundation: Aubrey created BASD Foundation, within months of joining the school board, in response to community requests for an easy way to financially support the district. Since the Foundation was established in August 2024, Aubrey and her team have had over 80 community donors, including 25 local business partnerships, and already donated over $6,000 to the district. BASD Foundation has also sponsored over 25 student fees, including registration and in participation fees for athletics and other activities. Visit www.basdfoundation.org to learn more.

Advocating for change: Aubrey has attended multiple trainings and workshops as a board member to learn about school funding at the local, state, and federal level. Aubrey has advocated to the BASD School Board for the board to take more action on a state and federal level, including proposing the creation of an advocacy committee to regularly connect with our elected officials and encourage increased school funding.

Academic Success

BASD has a strong academic tradition, backed by our dedicated staff. Aubrey is committed to sustaining this by gaining a deep understanding of what makes our district thrive by engaging with families and staff to identify needs and attending events that showcase the talents of our students and staff. She makes time to visit all district schools throughout the year.

Currently all board members are assigned one building to engage with throughout the school year.
